My boyfriend's back...

Zoe had a fun date all day today - Ian! We played at home, went to see the one and only Sponge Bob Square Pants (Ian's request, of course!), and got some ice cream and blueberries. Zoe was in heaven. So many times today Ian had her laughing so hard she was practically crying! He was a really good sport about being groped by her all day , too! Go Spiderman (Ian's alter ego)!

Mommy's little helper

We got laminate floors a few months ago and it's been great. Instead of vacuuming everyday though, now I have to dry mop to get up all the animal hair and people mess that fills the floor throughout the day. Today, Zoe grabbed another mop, on her own, and started mopping the whole house. She followed a path around the living room, through the kitchen, down to my room, and back to her room about 20 times! She was very focused and very determined. She's already a better housekeeper than myself! Are bathrooms next?...I can dream can't I!!???;)

Getting bigger

All of a sudden, Zoe seems to be so big now! She must have grown a few inches in the past few weeks! She seems more like a little person, and less like a baby every day. Waah! But she is growing into a sweet, giving, kind, smart little person, though, and we are very proud of that!

Reading

Zoe likes to read books all by herself. She will get one, sit down, and turn the pages. She has also started labeling familiar objects in the pictures. Today she pointed to a ball in the book, said "ball", and then pointed to her ball in the playpen and said, "ball" again. My child is a stinkin' genius!

Where did he go?

Zoe has started this cute little gesture when she is looking for someone. If I leave the room she'll do this and say, "Mamma?", or if someone isn't where they are supposed to be (like Papa John in the office when he visited) she'll do that and say,"Pappa?". It is very cute!

Music at the Park

We went to an outdoor concert tonight with friends and Zoe had a blast! She got yummy snacks with her buddy, Tully, she got to run around and see all the people and try to get their picnic supplies, she got front and center and danced and cheered for the band, and just generally ran her parents ragged. We have hope for next year though, because her friend Tully is a year older and really seemed to get the concept of hanging out in the general vicinity of our picnic blanket instead of running like a crazed maniac into every else's areas. Overall though, we had a great time and hope to do it again soon!

Good to the last drop!

Zoe was eating her peas very nicely out of her bowl while I was preparing dinner the other day. The next time I looked over, this was what she was doing! I swear she has never seen any of us do that!

Mommy's favorite Zoe face!

I love it when she scrunches her face like this!

Zoe loves Maggie

Zoe has started giving our dog, Maggie, hugs - out of the blue. It is so cute because Maggie is the perfect height for Zoe hugging. Maggie still isn't quite sure what to make of it yet, but Zoe is fairly gentle and I think Maggie might even like it. I'm sure Zoe would like to hug our (much) bigger dog, Boston, but he takes off running every time she gets near him (such a scaredy cat)!

Whooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!

Daddy graduated from Nursing school this past weekend!!!!!! Yayyyyy Daddy!!!!!!!!!!! He has earned it! Years of brain draining work, long hours (late nights and early mornings!), lack of sleep, MAJOR stress, and a few hospital stays and he is FINALLY DONE! I don't have any idea how he could pull all of this off and become a father smack dab in the middle of it all and still make it out smiling. An amazing man - deserves everything! We are soooooo proud of you Keith. I know we (and by "we" I mean ME) might have added a few extra stressors in there here or there (tee hee), but we knew you could do it all along and couldn't be prouder and more excited for you. Here's to being a college grad - congrats we love you more than anything!

Happy Mother's Day

I had the BEST day today! Pancakes in bed, flowers, morning at the beach, out to lunch, barbeque at a friend's, and even a nap thrown in for good measure! Doesn't get much better than that! Here's to more days like this all year long:) And it looks like someone else enjoyed the day as well...

The newest Beach Girl !

Nana and Gramps came to visit

I love this pic of the three Brodeur generations!

Yummies

Zoe has been a vegetarian so far. We have to be sure she gets enough protein so we have to be more creative with her meal times because like all toddlers, Zoe can be kind of picky. One thing that is always a hit is beans! She loves grean beans, lima beans, black beans, kidney beas - you name the bean, she loves it! As you can see from the picture, black beans are the messiest!

ET phone "hooooooome"

Zoe can say a few words now. She can say the usual, Momma, Dadda, Baba, but also says things like keys, juice, and down. The funniest one she says is "home". She makes this really exagerated "O" face and drags out the O sound like, "hoooome". It's so
hilarious!

%#@!*&

Now I start this story by reminding those of you who know me that I am not a potty mouth. So here goes parental confession #187.....
I was putting Zoe in her high chair the other day and pinched my finger in the tray. It really, really hurt, and I swore out loud. The next thing I know, Zoe is looking at me smiling and saying,
"ShhhhhTT, shhhhtttt, shhhhtttt"! Oooops!

Gramma's little helper

Zoe loves to "garden". She makes a sniffing sound every time she sees flowers - so adorable! She even has a little watering can that she usually ends up (accidentally) watering her feet with:).

Happy Mothers Day (early)

Since Gramma won't be here for Mother's Day, we took her out to brunch this weekend. We went to the same water front place that my bridal shower was held at - the weather was beautiful again! Zoe loved watching the people dock their boats to come and eat, and also all the boats going by. She chowed down on watermelon and strawberries (her favorite fruits) and had a great time. I hope my Mom knows how much we both appreciate all she does for us and how hard she works in Wavecrest so I can stay home with Zoe! Thanks Mom!

This is the way you brush your teeth, brush your teeth...

Zoe has about 10 teeth now! We finally got her a toothbrush and have been teaching her to brush her teeth. She can identify her teeth if asked and loves to brush them. It took a while for us to get her to put the right end in her mouth, but she does it right now about 80% of the time.
